Robertson Fencing won a tender to establish a new native woodland on a complicated ex industrial site in Fife.
The area was heavily covered in gorse, rashes and dense vegetation which was cleared. As the site was now lying and running adjacent to a large burn, careful planning of drains was required to move water on the site and control silt.
Ground preparation was carried out by continual mounding at 1600 / ha using a tractor unit and fitted with dual wheels to reduce ground impact. Fencing was a mixed specification, some adjacent to agricultural fields was high specification providing robust stock proofing, other areas were lower spec where only light roe deer pressure was present.
