A large scale establishment of a new commercial conifer woodland split over two compartments

Our Work
Following a competitive tender process we were engaged by Egger Forestry to carry out Woodland Creation works.
12000 m of high specification deer fence was installed to mitigate very high red deer pressure in the area. This was complimented by rabbit / hare proofing and the installation of bamboo canes to reduce bird strikes.
Ground conditions for cultivation were extremely varied with limit depth, high stone content and rapid variation in soil types. Our diverse fleet ground prep equipment was put to good use with a mixture of ploughing and scarifying to provide reliable and consistent planting positions at 2700 / ha.
